Here's a nicely priced 325i sedan. Wow! 84k for only $3k. I know it's not an M3, but this looks incredibly clean AND ITS A MANUAL! !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

good thing it's far from me
Otherwise I might end up with another bimmer

The lower trim doesn't look great, but it seems like a nice deal.

that'll just happen with age, I'd just swap in some M3 side skirts/rear bumpers because i prefer them painted anyways.
![]() 09/16/2014 at 16:39 |

Yeah I almost want to pick this up JUST to be able to drive a manual when I want to.
![]() 09/16/2014 at 16:42 |

Yup, that's probably it.
I got my A4 from two years younger but more miles on it for $2,500, I'd say that they are worth about the same though.

Ah, quite similar to mine. And nice color. The cold intake is weird. Someone should buy it. So much car for so little money.

Two words: track. car.
![]() 09/16/2014 at 16:46 |

Wow, surprised A4's are going that cheap!
![]() 09/16/2014 at 16:47 |

Yeah it's a great buy! How do you like your E36?
![]() 09/16/2014 at 16:48 |

MY FIRST THOUGHT. I'm gonna be keeping my eye on this for a few days.
![]() 09/16/2014 at 16:49 |

Yup, they're going for nice prices! This is pretty similar to the one that I've got.

Holy smokes, I'd be buying that today if it were near me.

Wait your car is auto?

This guy has the right idea.

at the end of the day i feel like non-m cars are just as rewarding to own as m cars...

NP all day long for a fun driver.

Not bad at all! This would be a great alternative for someone looking for something a little more daily driver suited than an E36.
![]() 09/16/2014 at 17:31 |
|
Yeah I wonder how long it'll stay on the market! This is a great buy.
![]() 09/16/2014 at 17:33 |

Love them. Im on my third. a 93 320i coupe, then a 93 m3 coupe, and now a 91 325i sedan ( silver ) just like you posted. Not my family car. I use it work days just to go the office, play on roundabouts and annoy the diesels.
![]() 09/16/2014 at 17:38 |

Yeah, mine was a great deal to me! Plus mine has leather, and the sport steering wheel instead of that gross vinyl :)
![]() 09/16/2014 at 18:14 |

right! Man this thing is really catching my interest.
![]() 09/16/2014 at 18:16 |

I always thought you knew.
But yeah, :( couldn't find manual M-sport 328's near me so instead I picked up a great deal on an auto with tech package.
![]() 09/16/2014 at 18:18 |

Cool! I'm very intrigued by this car. I may end up picking it up if it's still around in a few days. Which E36 has been your favorite? (I'm guessing the euro M3?)
![]() 09/16/2014 at 18:20 |
|
not always the case, more specifically for the more modern BMW's (I drive an E90 328i... It definitely isn't an M3) but that's the beauty of a BMW. They are still phenomenal to drive.
That probably makes more sense with the E36. Straight 6, RWD, manual, light, and just good looking. I'd love to have this car.
![]() 09/16/2014 at 18:27 |

I think I did but blocked it out of my memory. Me no gusta slushboxes, haha
![]() 09/16/2014 at 18:30 |

Me neither, but I'm dumb and pretty much gave myself a weekend to buy a car. I had 2 M-sport E90's lined up, BOTH sold on Friday evening (I was scheduled to come look Saturday morning) so I had to frantically search for another E90. I almost bought a manual high mileage E92 but instead picked up my 328i for a killer deal. I'm not 100% satisfied but I'm definitely loving driving my E90.
![]() 09/16/2014 at 18:33 |

Don't worry I'm like that too! I wanted a Manuél E46 but I was too lazy to keep looking for one so I got the robo-Manuél
![]() 09/16/2014 at 18:40 |
|
Better than an autotragic! I hear SMG's are pretty fun if you turn them up to the most aggressive shifting mode and drive spiritedly.
It was just flat out dumb what I did. I NEEDED a car on Monday and I sold mine on Thursday before I was 100% sure i had a new one lined up haha, not my best move.
![]() 09/16/2014 at 18:42 |
|
If it wasn't for single clutch robo-Manuéls being expensive to repair they would be the perfect transmission for someone who only has space for one car and need to drive in traffic!
Way more engaging than a DCT. But no clutch pedal to wear you out in bumper to bumper traffic.
That wasn't dumb, it was efficient!
![]() 09/16/2014 at 18:47 |

The SMG in the E60 M5 was pretty nice IMO. I had it turned up to the most aggressive setting and did some WOT pulls on the empty highway. It would make for a fantastic daily driver, I know it sounds weird but I don't exactly WANT my V10 sedan to be as smooth as a sofa. I want it to violently push me into the back of my seat reminding me why I would tolerate putting gas into the oh so thirsty V10 beast.
Dumb, efficient, and honestly not THAT bad. I can't complain at all. Some people are stuck driving a 250k Civic to work everyday. I'm "stuck" driving a 65k mile BMW.
![]() 09/16/2014 at 18:57 |
|
Exactly! You want it to be a beast
You should keep the practical bimmer and buy an M5!
![]() 09/16/2014 at 19:34 |
|
Two sedans?? What am I, 50?! I kid, I kid. I'd love an E60 M5. I wouldn't even need to keep the 328i, because the carmax warranty!
![]() 09/16/2014 at 19:43 |
|
But you would because MPGs!
![]() 09/16/2014 at 21:26 |
|
incredible for spec E36. I'm exercising all possible restraint in not FedEx'ing that person a check
![]() 09/16/2014 at 22:07 |
|
Doooo it! Well, do it if don't end up doing it!
It's a clean ride, it would be a great base for a track car.
![]() 09/16/2014 at 22:10 |
|
who needs MPG when you have MPH and straight piped V10!!
![]() 09/17/2014 at 00:23 |
|
That is so loud!
Straight pipes are illegal here though...
![]() 09/17/2014 at 01:56 |

Well, the M3 is a different beast. The cost alone makes it a different option. But the S50 IS a special engine. The last 1500 rpm are evil ;)
The best E36 would be an 325i with vanos engine m50b25tu or a 328i. Really cheap and great fun. 190 hp is a small amount of horsepower for you americans, but it is more than enough for us.
A good example like the one you posted should not be a track car.....

THINK OF THE CHILDREN!
Update: F-word, the posting has been taken down. Presumably because the dude realized he was selling that gem for pennies.

NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
![]() 09/17/2014 at 11:01 |

They're illegal everywhere! Even the guy that posted that vid admitted it was too loud for daily driving.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 11:27 |

I've found a few clean E36 M3's but most of them are pretty pricy for the age+miles. I'd be willing to put up with the added cost though, revving the "bad US spec" S52 is amazing.
I think the car has sold, the ad is down.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 12:42 |

Sold fast as expected. Here, m3s are much more expensive. My m3 cost 11k euros ( cheapest of all that were selling at the time ) and the 325i cost 2500 euros. The m3 was a much more expensive toy! Far superior car, with a far more desirable spec ( black/black, 2dr etc ) but it had the obvious problems. Cop / thief / kid who thinks its a racer magnet , fuel costs ( i do a lot of town driving ) and parts cost.
The 325i is like a slow sleeper ;) If it breaks it is no big deal.
Yep, on the 3.0 you had bad luck ( no itbs !) but the later 3.2 are the same as the euro, right? 321 horses?
On the other hand you ( USA ) have a bmw that we love and dont get: 128i coupe! The last small rwd NA I6. I would love to have one of those ! Bit ugly at the front but with the classic bmw shape. With small tyres and a lsd it should be fun ! A future classic here in Europe.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 13:34 |
|
Wow! I didn't know you guys didn't get the 128i! It's a great car, one that I may end up owning down the road.
The later 3.2's were still weaker than what you guys got :( They had a torque bump but nothing like what you guys had.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 13:57 |
|
We did ! But no one bought one ! Too expensive and not enough power :(
We have tons of 116d 118d 120d and 123d. 95 % are hatchs. There is also a small number of 135i but mostly are auto cabrios. No !
A coupe manual NA i6 petrol is a unicorn.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 14:06 |

Ohhhh. I thought just here cause smog rules
![]() 09/17/2014 at 14:57 |

That's interesting, it's not hard for me to find a manual 128i/135i near me!
I have an E90 328i right now and I'm in love with the N52.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 15:11 |

I remember being in my friends E46 when he got pulled over and ticketed for his straight pipes. They were just too loud, so it's not exactly the car being straight piped that makes it illegal, it's just how loud it is.
![]() 09/17/2014 at 15:21 |

Got it! That makes sense :)
![]() 09/17/2014 at 15:26 |

Ah! You have one ! The bigger brother !
You have it ! The bmw 6 cil thing!
Good taste! Well done!

Thank you!!! I'm in love with it. It's ridiculously smooth. I don't think I'll be getting a new 3 series because the lack of Naturally aspirated inline 6.
